POSITION: Finance & Administrative Assistant
LOCATION: BHC Building, KG Ave 7, Kacyiru, Kigali
REPORTS TO: Sr. Accounting Manager


Inkomoko Entrepreneur Development is a full-service business development firm focused on growing small to medium enterprises. Our services help our clients develop and improve their capacity. Founded in 2012, Inkomoko identifies Rwandan and refugee entrepreneurs and provides them with business education, mentorship, and strategy consulting, so that they can grow their businesses and create jobs for others. In 2017 Inkomoko will work with 880 entrepreneurs in Rwanda.


Finance & Administrative Assistant will to provide bookkeeping and administrative support to company operations and accounting tasks. Specific responsibilities include:


  • Bookkeeping and recording transactions in Quickbooks
  • Petty cash management
  • Maintain filing systems for revenue and expenses
  • Preparing payment requests
  • Bank deposits and checkbook requests
  • Assistance with bank reconciliation


  • Phone credit management
  • Prepare weekly Agendas for All Staff Meetings, and take company minutes
  • Other duties as assigned to support the Sr Accounting Manager and other company management
  • Clerical duties, including filing, photocopying, calendar appointments
  • Prepare rooms for meetings – must be on-time in advance of meeting start
  • Assist in organizing events for marketing, program, and staff retreat
  • Maintaining an updated staff contact/mailing list


  • Open the Inkomoko office daily at 8am
  • Maintain professional front office/receptionist area
  • Supervise Housekeeping staff, ensuring office is clean and prepared for clients throughout the day
  • Inventory management: ensure office has all supplies needed at all times for successful operations (water, coffee, paper, ink, etc).


The ideal candidate will fulfill the following requirements:

  • Ability to meet deadlines and work independently with the highest personal integrity
  • Expert in Excel and Quickbooks
  • Previous work experience in banking, accounting, finance, or other relevant field.
  • Excellent written and spoken English, French, and Kinyarwanda required
  • Shows perse Excellent computer skills, especially with MS Excel, Word, GoogleDrive
  • Perseverance, personal integrity, and critical thinking skill
  • Must speak fluent English and Kinyarwanda; French is an added advantage
  • Bachelor Degree in Business Administration/ Accounting or related field
