Anna Wanjiru

Director of Communications

Anna Wanjiru is a highly skilled communications professional with over 13 years of experience in strategic communications and humanitarian diplomacy across various cultural contexts. Currently serving as the Director of Communications at Inkomoko, she also contributes as a Humanitarian Diplomacy Research Tutor at the Diplo Institute. Anna has a proven track record in enhancing visibility and mobilizing resources for humanitarian initiatives, notably managing communications for the Zero Hunger initiative across 16 African countries while working as the Regional Senior Communications Lead for the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC). Her extensive experience includes collaborations with organizations such as IPPF, CIAT, British Council, FAO, Nestlé East Africa, and Kipeto Renewable Energy, focusing on areas like media relations, content production, and emergency communications.

In addition to her professional roles, Anna holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Business Administration from Daystar University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Humanitarian Diplomacy from Diplo and the IFRC.  In her role at Inkomoko, Anna is committed to championing refugee entrepreneurship by telling impactful stories of refugee entrepreneurs, advocating for systemic change, and leading thoughtful communications to position Inkomoko as a key voice in economic empowerment and social impact.
