Sara Leedom (her/hers) is the Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of INKOMOKO, a social enterprise with offices in Rwanda, Kenya, Ethiopia, and South Sudan. With nearly 350 staff in 20 offices throughout East Africa, Sara is responsible for the company’s operations, including HR, IT, Finance, MEL, and standardization as the organization grows to 8 countries by 2030. Sara has 25 years of experience growing and managing social impact organizations — prior to Inkomoko, Sara was a Shell Foundation consultant to IntelleGrow, a social impact debt fund in Mumbai, was a consultant to nonprofits in the San Francisco Bay Area, and served as Executive Director and Director of Strategy for the Level Playing Field Institute in California. She has worked in the areas of affordable housing development, sexual and reproductive health, and racial and economic justice. Sara has an MBA from Oxford’s Said Business School, was co-chair of the Oxford Business Network for Africa, and is an Echoing Green Fellow. She’s also a beekeeper and is based in Kigali, Rwanda.
